    The above is a photograph of the bottling unit of Wm. Scheele & Sons, 504 Harrison street. This has the latest and most modern equipmnent and has a wonderful piece of machinery, that washes, fills, sterilizes and crowns 80 bottles a minute. This equipment is of the latest design, and works perfectly.

    In 1922 Wm. Scheele & Sons used 175,000 pounds of sugar. The city of Fort Wayne consumed from this factory 2,561.976 bottles of Scheele beverages.

    They have seven trucks and they used during the year 9,500 gallons of gas.

    They distributed 216,000 bottles of Green Seal Beverage in Fort Wayne and the surrounding territory consumed 1,241,322 bottles of their products. This is a wonderful showing for this concern.

    Thanks to the visionary leadership of the late Mayor Tom Henry, our riverfront has evolved into a cherished destination. The Treeline District is set to elevate the enthusiasm we're currently experiencing here in Fort Wayne.

    Today, Mayor Sharon Tucker and Browning Real Estate Partners announced a major redevelopment of the former Pepsi warehouse site along the north side of the St. Marys River.

    The project, to be named the Treeline District, will transform the north side of Riverfront Fort Wayne with public spaces, 250 apartments, and a parking garage.

Green River - The Snappy Lime Drink

The History of Green River Soft Drink.  Green River pop (a midwestern term for soda, soda-pop, or soft drink) was introduced to Midwesterners in 1919, just as Congress passed the 18th Amendment establishing Prohibition. Green River soda was first created in 1916 in Davenport, Iowa, by Richard C. Jones, who owned a local confectionary shop. Digital Research Library of Illinois History Journal. It is still sold in Chicago. This page says the soda pop name inspired the singer John Fogerty's song title "Green River."
