Christina Scherer

Christina Scherer was born October 24, 1845 in Württemberg, Germany. Her mother was Magdalena who married Mr. Scherer. Christina came to Fort Wayne with her mother at an early age. About 1866 she married Henry Gerke (Johan Heinrich), who was born in Fort Wayne. Christina and Henry lived in Fayette County, Illinois for a time and then returned to Fort Wayne. They had eight children.Christina died on December 6, 1920 while visiting in Chicago, Illinois. She was buried in Concordia Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
